I've been reading some of the older posts and people claim that fishing doesn't make money.

I have proof it's not true.

I have fishing lvl 30 and I spent between 700k and 1m crafting 30 maple rods and 2k bait. Then I leave my computer on over night (aprox 8-10 hours) When I wake up, Not only is my stamina recovered, but I have made around 5k in fishing points, which when converted to items (powder of soul seems most profitable atm) leads to about 2-3m.

1m --> 3m overnight. That is profit. Take that fishing ne'er sayers

The only down sides are:

1. fishing lvl 30 takes a lot of money to get to (item mall anyone?)

2. if you have crummy luck, you might not make as much money.

I can't really think of any more. So, comments?

I've kept my Fishing level to 1 (bamboo/spoiled bait) and the profit's still good. Can't be arsed to level it since crafting Maple rods takes longer than crafing Bamboo rods (maybe I'll upgrade later). I make more money crafting and selling Fishing action and Fishing tools, though.

i made tons of money with fishing before the new update, as i used fishing points to craft my gold dragon items.
i had lvl 50 fishing and caught like 4-5k points per night
with those points i could buy about 60-70% of the costs for gold dragon equipments (hearts, shards, scales, powders)
But now they took away the hearts and shards from the crafting mats for these and i just start selling my fish points in powders and still make a ton of money !

Would you say its worth it to invest in fishing if you only afk, sayyy for only a few hours?
Also, on average, how much bait and rods should you have per hour?

What i think about is, my computer consumes a lot of power. If i leave it turned on over night, may it be that i spend more money irl for the additional power than if i would spend the money to buy stuff at the mall?

actually.. level 1 fishing with bamboo rods has the best bang for your buck.. its the lowest cost per fishing point you get. thats factored with rod catch rate, the fish you catch at 40/60 and bait cost. i didnt add in rod cost but it just goes down hill from there. the upside i think to having more fishing levels is that you have a better chance of catching the rare stuff (cause at level 1 you 50/50 lose it)
