I'm level 73 now, and I'm restarting a bunch of new mercs. I have them up to level 44 now. And I'm wondering what's the best way to get them up from here? Should I leave them in the merc room while I do quests, and only put them back in for the reward XP? Or should I put them in my party and level them up manually? What is the fastest way to get them up to my mains level?
I'm even considering starting a new character altogether, if that's indeed faster than getting up all these mercs (7 total)...
What should I do folks?

At the moment: the first floor christmas quest will allow them to receive a good amount of exp both while they are fighting and when turning the quests in. However, for quests around your level, I would recommend that since you have to many, to maybe keep one or two in your party while the rest in merc rooms only bringing all of them out when you turn in quests. The best exp gains are actually when the merc's level are less than 15 levels below the monster's level.
So turning in quests would be best, as well as redoing quests that are their level: witch/BT.If you are redoing quest, having them out in the field is not a bad idea either. Beyond that, if you got money to burn: scrolling on pvm's is the extreme last resort in my opinion. Hopefully what I wrote makes sense...feels like it's just spilled from my head to this page at the moment.

That all works great getting them up to about 50. But at 50 it seems to slow down. Those 10k-25k quests become somewhat ineffective.
I guess the only way is to do your main quests with two level 50's in your party until they get to to the 70's?

It always slows around 50. Unless you want to actually go back to mobs around lv 65 and have them last hit, it's best to keep on chugging along, also I forgot to mention the 2f christmas quest for you. 180k from turning in the boss part of the quest should help quite a lot.
I'm just recommending that if you want the mercs to gain a little bonus experience, have 2 at most since they tend to miss and gain minimal xp when fighting mobs around your level area. When turning in quests, transfer all of them into the formation as usual.

lving them isnt too big of a problem. Just let them have the kills >.> I had 4 noob mercs in my party at valley of kings, and still managed to solo teh shadow area. They're mostly 7x now so they catch up quickly (im 80 btw). Another easy way to lv is div 10+ free league fights. if u win, u get this thick exp book that gives a lot of EXP ^^

yeah league helps or you can let them use scrolls which makes them level even faster...

Trick is in not bothering. Do whatever you need to progress. If you can progress with this group, keep it. If not, switch them out for the stronger mercs or use scrolls/power potion.
You likely get new mercs till in level 90. Thats when you should start to worry about levelling, else you'll just do the same process over and over again. Also keep doing league and LDP's and keep using books. LDP really helps the lower lvl mercs.
