What are guardian stones and how do they work guide.

I'd like to see a how to guide for guardian stones. What mercs they work with, how much they generally cost, how well they work in comparison to a swordsman for the different mercs that can use them etc.. There is not a lot of information out there for the average person on how these work exactly.

Guardian stones add defense (+1000 def for lv 80 stone). Everytime merc equiped with them is attacked, one stone is consumed. So you don't want to give them to your frontliners, or it will be very expensive. Afair it was 1500 per stone. And they go VERY fast in pve. For pvp, equiping mercs than can use them, is a good idea.
Those cannot be used by ranged type characters. I haven't tried with staves, but probably not as well. That leaves melees that don't use a shield.

Will probably be most useful for exo front liners. Since they already have decent MDEF for a melee merc it'll really boost them up closer to their sword bearing brethren the swordsman.

Yea, there's no point in putting them on ranged/magic mercs since they can use ammo and mages can use orbs in their off hand slot.

Yea, I noticed that too. Just for no reason the reward would add a +150 guardian stone, or +250 guardian stone. W/e I don't mind. ^^

You're right - 1500 each, under the 'guardian' category.

They are GREAT for PvP.... give each guy about 10-20 of them, and youre immune for about 5 rounds....

you get 1000 +1000 def guardian stones for the cursed sword muramasa quest. it's pretty easy to finish too.

They also power up already debatedly-overpowered mercs (Exos and Spearmen). Man, exos, spearmen, and axe-users were balanced with the fact that they couldn't use anything in their offhand in mind, and then you hit level 80 and that all changes. Blech.

You'd think an axe or spear would take 2 hands to hold. But ya all ranged mercs are screwed, all staves get nothing out of it, only helps the softer melees become both tank and damage.

the only ones who can use the stone is axe and spear
swordsman got shield
shaman got orb same as the monk
ranger got bullet and arrow
BT got summons.....
so that hoe they say that axe and spear are too power full ^_^

I know you can craft Int guardian stones, oh wow...it turns out you craft all guardian stones...Ah the helpfulness of the ingame item info...
