its skill is to seal all melee magic attack? WTF.....

this is totally anti melee....

wow... melee heavy build (which is almost all of em xD) weill have a hard time with this; she would help u prevent a rain of fireswords xD... put willed lines dont care much about not being able to cast magic... so i dont think it will be that much of a blow, since all the dmg is being channeled through 3 angry spearmen; and u can still cast holy guard on your front row and have em back on the fray, raining fire upon the enemy.

The odd thing is She is a Staff user, She and Exo will be direct Counters to each other.

dont like this merc.... since they r introducing america they should have created a western gunner, or an indian archer.... that'd be cool xD

My god the potential with this new mercenary... This new merc will open up possibilities in a counter build versus melee heavy builds, specifically ones that rely on freezing and lightning spear -ap disables. Not to mention completely shutting down an Exorcist for x amounts of turns saving your precious staff users for a turn or two more. Oh, and a counter to warcry to save your own damage dealers! The list can go on... I also think she is quite balanced in that she is a staff user. There's a plethora of staff counters.

So, basicly she works as a variant to Freezing Axe but can hit any row or columm (probably) because it's magic. But it only works on melee characters...

hummm... it's clearly a counter-frontline.

You know what i think it would work best with this? Spears.

Just think of a tank build like this

:swm::swm::swm:
:spm::vik::spm:
:pro::malehero::ora:

it's a respectable line for pvp, i belive...

But if you use this rainmaker to lock melee in one of these rows, followed by a couple spears to drain ap, you can totally kill something like this...

Wow, what an interesting merc. We need to get that merc ASAP as it will kill all the melee heavy builds going on currently. :)

Too bad though its just being introduced in Korea. :(

It doesn't "lock" your mercenaries like a Viking does, it silences them like an Exorcist does.

I dunno, but my melee-centric build feels kinda doomed - no freeze axe, no lightning spear, no mana seal for 2 turns, feels kinda bad.

I don't think it will kill off melee centric builds, but it will make ranged builds more viable if they run a rainmaker. If the number of ranged builds increase the princess also becomes more viable, she definitely adds an interesting dynamic. It also opens up the possibility of running lockdown/silence builds, Exo+Rainmaker+Viking/Axe Main+Arhcer...that would be annoying as piss.

I take it you havn't read much about her...

1st she can tank like mad. She has really high base def and can even be used as a frontline tank for the most part, and her high mdef lets her get healed for a lot.

Her skill can wreck many peoples formations considering many people run meele heavy builds, and even though you can just use HG on a row to let them use magic again, most likely your monk will run low on ap and can easily get lost in stun.

Many possible formations can be created with rainmaker to take down meele heavy builds. I can't wait for her to come out. :p

This merc may actually have the potential to change the metagame if she is easily obtainable (which I highly doubt...seeing as she may need around 15,000 redemption crystals to fully upgrade her). With her skill, she is able to seal off melee mercenary spells, hopefully shifting the metagame towards ranged characters. This brings the princess into play...with all of the ranged characters running around, the bombing campaign combo will be more common.

I think my name promptly summarizes my opinions on the mercenary. Assuming that I can stop being lazy and actually devote time to leveling one of these days (not having school projects to do helps), I will likely get her ASAP with every resource available at my disposal and make her the centerpoint to my team.

I'm hoping that she'd get at least a little more than just Severe Breeze though. Sure, AoE silence on melee is nice, but that means that she'd be throwing magic missiles at people a good majority of the time (and staff doesn't have the most damage coverage). Even a desparation deadly-type skill would give her a bit more utility than just spamming breeze when it exits cooldown (though I guess we'll see when she actually comes out. I'm hoping for combos with janissary =p).

I'm rather concerned with the prospect of a column freeze for the viking. Namely, it can't be a good thing if you can reach the back row and freeze the monk on the third turn while you rack up the combos.

yeah, but seeing how most class b mercs seem to be tailored toward the 10% top elite (clearly a made up statistic, if you're gonna insult me because of it, i already threw in this disclaimer so you can look stupid if you do) on each server being the only ones with access to them... seems that most people will just be stuck with the class d and c mercs.

:spt:Here's a new build...Grandmaster(as in chess master) or geomancer,calculator,pioneer...etc. and the Marshal.

Grandmaster armour-red/black checkered shirt,pants,black boots,and checkered cloak/trenchcoat. The Grandmaster carries a banner/flag

attack icons: has 6 individual chess piece symbols that are skills. The following are.........

pawn icon: allows an ally to have an addtional attack
what is does: boost skill

rook icon: attacks up to 3 horizontal foes
what it does: like spearman with less dmg but can hit all 3 foes

knight icon: attacks in an L-shape 2 horizontal 1 vertical
what it does: can only use this attack on corner foes of the square [] like artilleryman

bishop icon: attacks 3 foes diagonally
what it does: dmg is like gunner

queen icon: multiple attack in a cross shape 2-3 horizontal, 2-3vertical
what it does: dmg like archer but can be same or less effective

king icon: attack any foe in the square AND gives additonal attack to all allies
what it does: the kingmaker!! bonus exp to all kills but any disoriented ally cannot attack.

SO WHA'CHA THINK? Better than clawboy or ele? It uses Atlantica's turn-based land movement to its proper intent.

Marshal is still a work-in-progress but wears Hussar(Polish Winged) armor and cape that has your country's banner (basically U R wearing a flag draped over armour) and carries a baton/mace and doesn't do dmg but has boost skills like (ex:guile waws paragon without the spear throwing). And yes I said guile waws....what...you want to get sued? Incidently, I hope we get an ninja with throwing skills like final fantastic tactik. Hey throw anything like tomahawks(the elementalist shoulda had this), daggers, javelins (shorter spears sharp on both sides), and even.....THE KITCHEN SINK!!!! bwahahaha....so SOMEBODY forward this to the bosses at Atlantica Online PLEASE!!!
