hi guys..as of now im still thinking of a formation...probably..as the title says...a melee formation..but i got few question...well heres my current formation

:bst::swm::spm:
:malehero::gun::spm:
:art::sha::mnk:

main=axe
i choose to get this formation cuz i love the idea of stopping players(via FA, stun w/ gunner and alt then LS w/ spear)...the monk and shaman of course are for support...i even thought of using putting the main infront, replace the spear then brutal will the middle line XD...
now here's my problem..im ok w/ my current formation..but since i have little exp in FL im not sure what to take out...i got an eye for a prophet(heals my melee) exo(another possible stopper for staff users) and the oracle would probably just replace my shaman...
take out one spear and the LS wont be as effective...take out gunner or alt then stunning would be hard....im at lost for a formation :(

any suggestions would be appreciated :D

Just take out gunner -easy. lone gunner doesn't work well. gunners do better in pairs. at least arty may pull off a stun even when alone, and deep insight has more utility over wild shot.

Yes, at late-game, it is ok to put main in front. get prophet, put her in last row, main in front, and get yourself a arty-spear-spear brutal midline. but personally i like 3 spear midline more ^ ^

just get rid of your gunner....and replace her with a prophet...

hmm- I love my Exo though... wouldn't play any formation w.out him!

true...i can just replace my gunner..but the reason i have a hard time taking her out is cuz of her range and help in stunning...cuz i dun wanna have both arti and gunner moving at the same turn cuz they're the only ones in my formation that has the range to penetrate an entire line(switch turns in attacking same line every turn)...my idea on this is stunning a monk as soon as possible...but if imma take her out then ill just go on forcing the monk use awakening instead of holy guard...and im not sure but can bow stun too?...if they can then its ok since i have my spear left and just hit the back row w/ bow....

ok gunner out...prophet in...but will it be ok to replace one of my spear w/ a exo?...they say that at higher levels exo can tank right?...w/ the stone thing(the one that adds def)...then if i have an exo i can just switch between him(exo) and spear(the one left) for front line....he also have mana seal w/ helps in silencing staff users...plus he's also affected by the prophets healing skill....

i know...you might be asking why im still "asking" bout this when already have some thoughts about my formation...but like i said im not used to PVP of FL thats why i need more experienced players to share their thoughts since it would be really helpful

well if ur up against a good player, they'll awaken their monk after its combo counter reaches 2, so stunning will b unlikely
the purpose of my arti is to DI to reduce def and dot
but also i use it to hit scrolls on player's @ the back, and cancel their scrolls
also proph is also used for this

it is good to replace spear for exo too...
mana seal is super powerful in pvp...

can you define "super powerful"....i mean what i know about mana seal is that it disables staff users...from using skill right?...or is there another thing that mana seal does...well its not like im saying that mana seal is weak or anything..thats actually the reason why i want an exo XD...

mana seal prevents heal, awaken, holy guard and meteor
a must have in pvp you can stun, freeze without the opponent having the chance to fix it

mana seal is a 3rd turn activation skill of the exo(like the freezing axe or meteor)

it stops ALL staff users in the enemy party irrespective of their position from casting spells for two turns.at higher lvls it is a pretty good DoT too...which is notable since staves take much lesser damage from DoT.

the reason its a musthave in pvp is that it puts scroll pressure+awakening pressure on the enemy monk...if some guys on the team have 2 combos and the monk doest awake them he will surely get sealed+stunned.

the other notable spell of the exo is the speed cast which gives your staff users some heal and some bonus hp at the start of every turn....maxed it think its 32 ap.

32 ap isnt much but its a passive ability so it stacks....eg after the first 2 rounds when monk should begin awake he will have 64 bonus ap which allows him and any other healer to 'play' around with their abilities.

ok its decided..my gunner would make way for a prophet and one of my spear would be replaced w/ a exo then shaman for a oracle....the thing i need to figure out now is what would i do w/ my other spear....maybe ill take him out too and replace him w/ a witch ive been keeping..

if so im thinking of this formation

im not so sure about this formation..i just made this up after reading your thoughts...witch would be infront of main since she can only be targeted w/ magic or staff/gun/bow users...if the main is targeted w/ melee attacks prophet+monk would keep him healthy for a while but if things are looking bad exo can be switched w/ witch...if its also not looking good for exo then switch main infront...exo probably received attacks for 2-3 turns enuf for monk+prophet to heal main...but im thinking that it might be easier if i keep one spear and put him infront of main since he will most likely be a better shield for main...

since witch have high magic def(probably anyway since i dun have witch) will they be able to withstand at least 2 flame swords? okay make it 3 flame swords...(flame sword is one of the skill im really afraid since it hits really hard so ill use flame swords as a reference when it comes to skill damage)

will spear be still effective even when he's on his own...lightning spear w/ just one is pretty sad but you still cant ignore their damage potential...though
after the patch limiting spear damage im having second thoughts on having only 1 spear..

witches can take like 6-7 lvl 60 flame swords np.

main problem is that 1 heal can get the witch to full hp from like 1/10 cuz of high mdef.

lightning spear an exo to drain his ap so he cant seal te next round...or the axe main/viking so he cant freeze or the witch so meteor gets delayed by 1 turn
