Some how the pointy eared, big breasted, thong wearing, blond haired female elf wins every odd fellows heart out there. The camera views have to be top notch for the game companies to secure their vote in holding down their members.

So do you choose the steaming hot lushes female elf. Or the roid raging, super buffed, muscular, big man with the tiny testicles. Because, ya know, its your second life upon many second lives to choose.

I always pick the male character, i prefer how they look in armor and i dont have the slighest patience of playing "innocent" to try and score some money or items from anyone, and i treat every gamer as if they were an it anyway, couldnt care less if they are hes or shes.

That pretty much sums it up. First second of Lineage 2 open beta when I clicked my first move...yeah that female dark elf running pose isn't at all designed anything in mind.

Aside from that though...

Some people actually see their avatar as roleplaying projection of their own self.

Other's play WITH the char. IMO kinda stemmed from how you would play an console RPG in which you are "controlling" the character to progress along that character's story. Or some creepy comparison to a barbie doll.

That's not true. Role playing as yourself is maybe for those people who are serious gamers and treat the game seriously. Casual players tend to like to fool around and have fun abit.
