Hi like the title stated. Can you do well in pvp without either? Hope to get some comments and insight on this as it would be tough for me to try as i am not that great of a player and rather leave that to the pros to tell me.

Well, you can only go for so long without healing of any kind. With a full melee team along with a prophet, your team may be able to survive for a couple turns.
A team without a healer is trying to kill the opponent before they have a chance to kill anyone on his team.

Not sure about pvp since I pve about 95% of the time, but I would have to say a healer is a must. I just finished the BT quest killing Taraka and my shaman not only provided nice healing that kept me going for the win but also used blessing of life as an offensive attack on those dark dungeon fiends.
I wouldn't leave the house without her. :)

Well, you CAN get by without one, and hey, u can be succesful without one too.
But, it quite important in my opinion... especially if your opponent has witches / cannons/ Bt's basically any merc with AOE dmg will hurt you the most imo
however at least have a monk if not.

Quite simply, yes.
I have not had one successful battle, or seen one successful battle without a good Shaman in the back row.
Hex of Darkness is also CLUTCH in PvP... Ive won many battles with it.

there's a reason why in pvp, ppl always aim for healers first, well sumtimes monks
however, i have gotten my ass kicked in pvp atleast by a team w/ 2 monks, they didn't get healers, however, i dun see how 2 monks would do well in PvE
as a previous poster said
prophet for full melee team
team w/ monkS
princess w/ range team? <---idk lol, never seen on player, but alexandria in arena kicks ass

No, but you would be surprised at how much they help.

Oracles and shamans help a decent amount in pvp, I dont expect that you will live very long if the opponent has a sturdy front row. You could always use monks to help out healing but a shaman heals more for less mp. I don't think I can survive very long without a shaman/oracle in both pve and pvp fights if they last too long.

Well, I got to level 76 w/o a shaman/oracle. I managed in PvE, and did pretty good in PvP. If I remember I was about 25-7 in FL before I switched to oracle (not much of a FLer) I had a meele heavy team, but then once you get higher levels, it's a lot harder to survive withouth a shaman in pvp. Other people can take down your tanks quickly without one and the only way you can win is if you kill him faster. :P
Only good thing about no shaman is that you didn't have to worry about heals since you couldn't and just focus on killing them.

I've seen many formations that lack any type of healers. However after seeing how powerful a noble sac shaman is against AoE and DoT builds I'm hard pressed to say you can go without a healer and be very successful.

IF you dun have a healer, you are basically just a dmg dealer w/o any care of ur life.
In my personal reference, you always need a monk at least to do good in PVP or even PVE.

Interesting, Sorry i dun have a char on sikyon, but I'm really curious about your fren's formation, is it alright to post & let us see?
Watched some WK today with just prophet to keep the HP going. Seemed to work fine against melee-focused groups due to the strong front lines. I can't imagine it'd do quite as well against a cannon will group though.

I seen ppl who do pretty well without any healer. I myself is planning to run a no healer formation to see how it works hopefully when i can try it i will come back and give more insight on it.

I would say this a good example of you could, but why would you? I guess you could do this, but a single (maybe two) merc can make such a big difference in this respect, you probably just should.

You need some form of healing, whether passive (prophet) or active (shaman/oracle). The passive healing team usually consists of 3+ spears and win by disabling enemy (ap deny and sometimes combined with stun) to limit enemy's movements, thus take less dmg and require less healing.
Team that has no healing whatsoever relies on extreme crowd control to win.

I ran a small stun build atm. Turning it into AoE alot soon too.
my main is cannon. So archers really beat it up. I haven't fought a successful team with atleast 1 archer in a while, But when I do and they know to go after my main, im in trouble. That brings me to getting shaman and oracle, for brutal will and healing and hex. All very good for me.
I haven't used one yet, up to about level 50 and I'm roughly 50/50 when it comes to FL. I have plans for it in the future.

Oracle is worthwhile in PvP if only for Seth's Will.
And, you know, the heals too. :P
I fought a guy who used noble sacrifice on his shaman... it was crazy. It healed all his guys at the beginning of his turn for three turns! I don't care what people say, I'm using a shaman over an oracle.

I think shamans and oracles are necessary in pvp. Reason being they are the only main healer in the game except from the buffing mercs like princess prophet and exo. Aside from those theres also monk. Monk heals with awaken and holyguard actually are quite a lot especially holyguard which heals for 2turns. But the amount they heal definitely does not compare to oracle/sham. They are needed if your build pretty much balance meaning front row tankers 2nd row range and staff 3rd row main and staff. Meaning your front line is your absolute defense which is there to prevent 2nd and 3rd row from getting hit. Therefore unless you're playing a melee tanker intensive build i would think shamn and oracle are a must.

oracle's seth will definitely make ur offensive row go crazy in pvp..
spearmen would jus cut a hole in the front row easily
