So, can you obtain any money via fishing? Best way to spend fishing points are still beating hearts (only 30k each on Mycenae) and also u lose bait and fishing rods there...

You only get fish, mat box, clam shell, big fish and culture boxes from fishing. Beside fish the rest are not very commom i would say pretty rare. You never can get money from fishing but you can take the fish you get from fishing to exchange it for points. From the pts you can exchange it for different items. Only when you get those items you may sell them upon the market and hope to convert it to gold. Hope this answer your question.

Well, I know how fishing works :P, Just asked if u can get any PROFIT from this? Cuz u spend money for baits/fishing rods, and items wchich can be bought by fishing points are bery cheap now on market.

lol nope...you will never make money from fishing...
you lose more than you make....
use low level bail + rod actually gives you more points than the high level ones...because it burns way less money >_>

Ahh now I see what your question is. Thought it was how fishing work and do get gold itself from fishing.

It is very hard to say if you can make money from fishing as like the post above me said you burn thru bait and rod as you fish. The main problem with answering this question is that every server is differnt and the market price for the items changes from time to time. i been seeing really low price for most of the item for a while so in that case you will most likely lose money. But if your server market price is higher, there might be money to be made.

I personal fish for fun and I use the items myself so I cant really tell you if I been making any money or not as I havnt really sold any of items. I been only trading in for what i need for crafting. Maybe someone who does it for a profit can give you a better answer. But from the forum and threads i read on fishing it is another money sink like any other crafting and the higher the lv the more it sinks. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Xargrr, go kill 400 people in a row. No need to worry about fishing. There is no profit, as many testimonials have said so.

Those who don't really prosper tend to say, oh they profit, after being afk all night. The profit is slim, always.

I pick crafting over fishing.

is fishing not profitable cause you have to buy the rod and bait off the market or can you make them your selfs and in some grind fest to lvl up and get boxes .. obtain the mats to make the bait and rods then use it to fish with cause this would be pure profit ..... ya it takes time but someone had to take the time to farm mats if they sell large amounts of bait and rods on market....

One of the most expensive pieces to make the bamboo rods doesn't drop from monsters - the bamboo. It's only available at a fixed price, and it's freakin' expensive to get enough to make as many rods as you need.

Fishing can turn a profit on newer servers, but on Mycenae (where I know you are, Xargrr) or any server other than Argos right now - no, I doubt you'd make a profit, unless you get lucky with cultural boxes/old treasure boxes. As soon as I finish the fishing maniac title quest, I'm never stepping foot on Hainan again. :p

Good point beside some ppl doing fishing for the fishing maniac title. Fishing is probably not your best bet right now. I totally forgot about that title quest, now i have something to aim for when i fish for my crafts.

yup, there isn't profit if you depend just on fishing, whether you buy your equipment or craft them. you will profit more by crafting the fishing equipments and sell them. :)

I actually make a lot of money on cultural boxes I get from fishing - over 7 mil and counting. 'Course, I'm going for the fishing maniac title so I go fishing a *lot*. :p

Simply put - fishing is lame. And boring. And costly.

If you craft your own rods and bait, you actually tend to spend 400k-800k less on the gear to go fishing. Higher level rods give you a higher chance to actually catch something. Higher level bait gives you better fish, which give you better points. This combination means that, with a max level pole, max level bait, you will be catching a fish, box, or clam, every single cast.

You can get material boxes, fish, old treasure boxes (Which can contain jewels that sell for 300k-500k a piece, and typically you get 2-5, not to mention other very rare materials, like adamantium), and cultural boxes, from the fishing.

In time that you're spending sleeping, instead of playing, Fishing is ideal for making a little bit of a profit at low levels, and a much higher one, at higher levels. Beyond that, it also gives you the items you need if, instead of selling the crafting materials, you simply use them to craft, to make quite a few pieces of gilgamesh, dragon, or other types of armors and weapons.. which, as we all know, sell for a great price, especially ifyou get lucky and get + anything.

So, I would say fishing is worth investing in. Yes, the prices on the market get a bit flooded. Same can be said for treasure maps, but, like treasure maps, there are chances to get some really nice goods out of fishing. The fish are only a "consistant" prize. The real prizes are those old treasure chests(where you can get the ornate maps from), material boxes, and cultural boxes.

By the way, for those who don't know, almost every item you get from an ornate map is a "Trash" item. The real gold of a treasure map... are the licenses.
