Commodity Box Chances Dependent on Party Composition

I've discovered that your chances of getting any given book, at least from a commodity box beg is dependent on your party composition. I tested this by making a new character and opening several commodity box begs while in a party of three. I recieved books of all kinds. However, after leveling up and getting a fourth party member I received only books useful to my party. It'd be interesting to find out whether this holds true for other boxes.

Thats only true for community box beg, once you hit mid, they give you random books even if you don't have the merc.

This is only true for beginner commodity boxes. If you have any characters that have either skill points or bonus points left, you will get the appropriate type of book or a growth vial. If you only have one or the other, you will only get either a book of the correct type or a growth vial. If none of your mercs have any free points (or need too high of level of book/growth vial), you will get a random book. That means you can somewhat control what you get by using your merc rooms.

Once you get to the int commodity boxes, though, this goes out the window.

Right, it's only for beginner comm boxes. However, you need to get out of the tutorial stage for it to give books depending on the unmaxed merc's skills. Within the tutorial stage, you still get random books.(only for lowest grade mercs).

Where do high commodity boxes drop? I'm lvl 90 and I've yet to see one drop, or sell on the market.

I had the same experience too, if u don have a archer, u wont ever get silence book

yea i was wondering about the same thing. Do high commodity boxes exist? if so where do they drop?

For me it did not apply to any, when i used beg boxes, i got silence books even tho i had no archer.

The other thing to know about BEG commodity boxes is that when your main and mercs no longer have any skill pts left... you will keep getting growth vials. Nice trick to earn some cash when you're low level and max your stats quickly without busting the bank.

Kel beat me too it ... I remember getting nothing but growth viles for like 25+ boxes ... wish I knew what the market was back then as I used them all hehe

I don't think Commodity Boxes[Hi] are dropped by any mobs, after checking the item info on them. D:

Based on item info, there are no current mobs that drop community box hi and I don't see any of them in the market either.

Yeah like an earlier poster said if you've got the time and the money for beg commodity boxes, you can make a bit of cash by setting it up so you just get growth vials and selling them. Not too much at the higher levels but when you're new it's quite a bit of cash.

i was wondering about the same thing i guess someone already tested it thou when i was low lvl and using those boxes it gave only books for my chars
