you don't really need to farm ashens...you can buy batches of them for anywhere from 300-500 per. so 100* = 30-50k. To completely solo shadow bran? Well into the 80's so that you can team heal with prophet+oracle/shaman.

sorry to say it but thats defenetly lag issue as for ashen crystal ... everything drops them it seems I have 400 of them after upgradeing all my lvl 50 mercs and I have not farmed them .. infact if your on thebes let me know I will send ya a few :)

Around 70-80 is necessary only for shadow countessa, and even than you CAN do it at the sixties with a bewitch scroll and a bit of creative use of AoEs. The actual bran shadow all the way up to 4F can be soloed as early as level 53, and becomes easy (with a bit of tactics) as soon as you hit the sixties.

Level 48-56 are my mercs. 56 is me.

I use a power potion. I can solo everything till 4th floor, I have to use bewitching for alloy dolls, and the boss.
