View Full Version : Column Spike - SMF or DMF?

Well, been thinking about a column spike build and I came up with two builds, one being SMF the other being DMF.

It'd basically look like this
:malehero::spt::vik:
:jan::ora::pra:
:exo::mnk::jan:
If I were to go DMF, I'd drop my oracle for the 2nd monk.

Now with SMF formation I can have that oracle for a nice heal--something that is definitely a plus when your main is in the front line. Unfortunately, with that I have no way to HG off a warcry from spartan or signet from a princess

With DMF I HG away the warcry + signets and my main will have both SoP and protect. But without a backup heal, I'll have to be a bit more cautious on the front line. Not to mention that against snipe/spike teams I have no way to heal either. =(

Anyway, what do you think is best, SMF or DMF?

note: Of course I could always just drop the pirate for an oracle, jani for inventor, and go DMF and i'll have an Alanor clone, but that doesn't seem as fun to me xP.

I'm also planning on keeping a BT until I can afford a spartan.
Until I can afford a pirate, which merc do you think I should have?
And lastly, any changes to my formation?

cool thanks...
so

:malehero::spt::vik:
:pra::mnk::jan:
:exo::jan::mnk:

yes? (staffM)

I'll probably just lvl the gunM up a bit and if it doesnt work out too well vial over to staffM
Any point in getting scud or is better just to wait to get Flame Blow?

How about having Hwarang instead of pirate?
His aura might be effective since u always use normal attack.
I'm thinking of making this...

:malehero::spt: - Druid -
:jan: - Hwarang - :jan:
:exo::mnk::sha:

Change the placing around a bit so that Warcry doesnt royally screw you over when it gets all your ranged in 1 use.

if you went dmf, you wouldn't have to worry about warcry. =P
but for that formation, yes your formation would have to be rearranged
If I go staffM like Locksley suggested
:malehero::spt::vik:
:jan::mnk:hwarang
:exo::jan::mnk:
might work out fine

You, my friend, are oblivious to the skills of the Druid.

Beast's Soul, in fact, increases the damage of the mercs under War Cry by a substantial amount, thus creating "Enraged Beast's Soul."

I suggest you switch Shaman with Oracle, because Seth's Will stacks onto Beast's Soul. Another person actually posted this build, except the placing is different.

I have seen that post, in which the person intends to stack seth and beast soul. the only issue I have with using double jani is the occasional princess user. You will still be able to do dmg, stance+beast soul+seth should be able to override signet (and hwarang still there), but you will be doing a lot less dmg.

main-spartan-druid
jani-BT-(dun put an axe or gun user here)
oracle-monk-exo

the thing is to have 3 different types of weapons in the seth/beast soul line, so debuffs cannot really cripple you.
