should I fire or keep?

I have lvl68 archer, lvl 68 gunner, lvl 50 princess, lvl50ish archer, etc.

The point is that I keep them but I found out that I need more room.
10 merc room is not enough. Should I lvl them to 100 and send them off as Independent? Or should I fire them to make room for cannoner, lady knight, and oracle?

Ugh- it's gonna be tough to pass up on a Lady Knight. I would make room for her as soon as you finish the quest. Also, in next month's major update... there are going to be B class mercs... I think you need to free up a space or two. =P

Keep the princess if you want to do the inventor quest!! You need a princess at level 50 for the quest. And the inventor quest is the only one that gives dragon crystals.

Leveling to a 100 is not easy, I've heard its a grind and for each level, it's like a multiple of the needed exp that you needed to level up from the previous level. I'd say place in rooms first then start to fire if you really need the room. The archer would be my choice due to its level = to princess.

Yup. i think the archer should go, however unless you really need the addition space theres no harm keep her in for a little while longer. Ya talking about the lvl50 not 68 archer :D

in fact i think all the merc that you need to go through quest to get them are worth keeping.

Ditch the princess unless you are doing inventor quest. once you get him, ditch her.

Just dump your mercs in your merc room, even if the time runs out, they still exist and you dont have to pay them a fee for firing them

well princess sounds a good choice for your build of Range merc but the decision is still left to you what to do with them

imo buy merc room slots, future merc recruiting quests after pirate and spartan will probably require additional independent mercs.

I would say ditch the archer as this is a d merc and can easly be reobtained and lvled up .. as for the princess if you plan to farm or just do the inventor keep her :) if not ditch her too to get 2 spots for future B rank mercs hehe

D ranks - especially archers - are expendable if you have enough room. If you ever feel the need for another archer, just go to one of the beginner towns and seek the mercenary hiring NPC to rehire for a negligable 10k =p.

You can't hire from them once you hit 30. At that point, you *have* to hire from wandering mercs.

I'd say ditch any D rank mercs, as there are several places close to various towns where they often wander about should you ever find need of them after future patches and changes to the game.

Getting rid of any of the quest mercs would be ill advised in my opinion as you would have to redo the quest, while not bad for the money or the like, it does eat a lot of time. Spend 10-30 mins and find a merc you want, or do the quests which could take you a couple hours.

The solution is easy enough.

And despite some mercs like the princess being all but useless, you never know when those aforementioned game changes could actually make them viable again, so keep em around cause you never know.

Almost 100% certain. But if someone can prove me wrong, I'd be happy to admit it - it'd make getting my alt's additional mercs a lot easier. :P
