Wonder if u guys have the same problem, there was one time where i opened a artisan box, when it pop out a dragon crystal worth 2m, but next day the gm gives 5 dragon crystals to everyone, making the price of dragon crystal fall to just 200 k....... in one night i had lost near 1.8m

They will give Maksburg Castle Raid event rewards soon 400 multi-hued crystal boxes for 1st place (It's 4000 dragon crystals), 200 for 2nd and 80 for 3rd. SO overal it's almost 7000 Dragon Crystals! :)

Heh, you can always keep it stashed and wait til the prices go up again before selling, taht way you lose nothing and can gain something. And as for the marksburg castle...dang...there's gonna be an overwhelmingly rich guild in each server now, and a huge undercut in dragon crystal prices if they so choose to sell.

I bought over 300 dragon crystals on that weekend, and I don't plan to sell them until the price goes back to 500k each =)

Not getting those crystals = big lost
Market price dropping because of free crystals = bigger lost......

True but i think gm doing it for the greater benefit of the entire server. You see before the give away. The amount of dragon in the market are all so exp and so limited in stocks. things tat required dragon crystal too craft also became very exp. I mean true some minority who did not get the crystal was unlucky but gm giving away dragon crystal is something good. The only one who suffered was those that had the crystal before the gm giveaway and the one who didnt get the giveaway. For me i almost used all the dragon crystal i got from the give away therefore other than those 2 types i said above. The rest of the community actually gained from the giveaways.

I completely agree - it was ridiculous to try and craft anything that needed dragon crystals - like, say, auto-craft actions. Prices were horrendous and it's impossible to farm them by drops (they drop incredibly rarely - it's much better to reset the inventor quest - but a lot of people aren't that level, AND it takes dragon crystals to craft the licenses to reset the quest!). They were never meant to be that rare - the problem was that there weren't enough high levels on the servers yet to put the crystals into the market. My guess is the price will never rise as high as it used to be (except in the case of inflation) because it ended up being a temporary measure until more people could get up the right level and start doing the quest over and over. Now the number you see on the market aren't from the giveaway - they're from licenses, etc., that people created *from* the giveaways.

yup... i also feel that the gm are doing gd job on giving out random items and licenses.
Without the GM giving out license, we wont even be here complaining on how lics are so expensive or it cost alot in the cash shop.
We wont know about its usefulness anyway.

not really unfair. everyone has the same chance of getting the crystals; just leave your computer on. if you don't/can't, its your own fault.

for the last time, ur not losing anything, ur only gaining less -.-. its free giveaways -.-

It's not a fault to not be able to or want to keep your computer off. It is however not logical to think that when the event has specifically stated that the give outs are at x time for online people, that people whine for not getting it.(If you whine it applies to you, if not, then it doesnt.) The world doesn't work around you, you work around it. Same goes for this virtual world. Unless...you're the devs.

You lost a ton if you brought a bunch of dragon crystals for millions hoping you'd be able to sell them later for even more millions. Sorta like when you lose money when a stock crashes in the stock market.
...not that I know why people would want to invest in Dragon Crystals as a stock in the first place pre-giveaway... (POST giveaway, though... BUY BUY BUY!!!!!!)

yes, if you were an investor, but to the people saying that they lost stuff cause they didnt get the free dragon crystals, they didnt, it was free, they lost nothing, they gained nothing. big difference :)

okay look, prices change all the time, thats the whole concept.
prices reflect demand.
crystals are constantly being used,
supply will go back down and demand will go back up = cost more again later..
it happens. just live with it.
let the poor souls who would use cannon/inventor/janis mercs have their day =.=

so after the elephant event is over, will they still be giving the tusks out? and will the gold tusk be completely useless besides the exp u get from using it?

I don't remember ever seeing the dragon crystals at 2 mill but I do remember they were 600k and I was sad taht I might not get my lvl 50 ring task done ... but then I caught the tale end of the crystal giveaways 2 weeks ago or so and got my lvl 50 ring hehe so I was happy :)

i think the gms are trying to level the prices for crystals. Dragons were not meant to be 1mil each. There is simply just not enough player base to get enough crystals on the market. IN time these events will not be needed but i do not think they are spoiling the market.

Well, the item was free. Most people don't see an item that seels for over 100k untill they hit their 30's lol.
Anything gained is something gained, not lost. It was free, powah to teh happeh noobies.
I'm just holding on to all my crystals untill later. I missed the 2nd giveaway because my clock was freaking, 25 minutes slow, no thanks to me blowing a circuit.

Interesting way to put it. I feel drop rate could be altered instead of giving every 5-10 crystals. In due time I too think it will balance out, but maybe it is just one of those things. Another obstacle to decide whether or not you want that merc or not.
Should you stick with the cheaper merc or go for the expensive costing one?
This reminds me of a Conquer Online Christmas Event of 2006. Their was a super easy, hidden sant claus quest for the uber expensive gems. By the end of the event, gems selling for 800-1.5kk sold for 30k or 40k. I managed to quest 75 of these babies. I sold what I could before the prices dropped and people figured out what to do.
I drop that game for a good 4-5 months and came back to it to sell my riches. It worked and when I did play it I was mad rich :D Prices were back up in a few months and I squeeled like a little girl.
So dragon crystals in some way shape or form will rise to another equilibrium. It won't be 900k, it might be 500k or 400k, but you just have to let the market adjust and compensate for itself.

I really dont think the gm spoiled the market. If anything they were trying to fix the market. Dragon crystal is not meant to cost the crazy price it was pre giveaway. They heard ppl complaining how they are not able to lv any of their auto skills and how no one at lv 50 can afford the crystal to start their quest. I am sure they know the drop rate of dragon crystal is bugged but what do you think is easier to fix? Go debug the while program till they see y dragon crystal is not dropping or a quick fix and give everyone crystal so the market is balanced.
I would think the latter is much much easier. Also let face it this game is suppose to be a free market and like a free market price will go up and down. There is no way to control that factor. Just follow the wind and play it toward the direction it is going. Look at the world market now someone thought Leman stock will set their retirement fund since it was worth miliion in their portfolio but guess what when the govt refuse to bail them out, those ppl lost 99% of it. that is just life and how the free market works. It can be an advantage or disadvantage it is how u deal with it.

Well, I can say that the market for tusks had tumbled... about 20k per in Macedon...
Im debating whether it will shoot up before Nov 30 when the last day comes to trade them in... Im holding onto about 150 of them, and I actually would like to sell at about 30k a piece....

the market will always fluctuate regardless of giveaways. i personally love giveaways...i still have those crystal boxes they gave away. i'll sell them when prices go up along with other things i bought at rock bottom prices.

nothing wrong with giveaways, it's always good to flood the market once in a while to 'balance' the economy. over time, some items may get too rare and in high demand, causing high prices. the occassional flood will level the prices a little bit.
whether the prices will continue to drop or stabilise or rise again, depend on how greedy are the players.

I can understand teesa frustrations... maybe not give out free items so often will solve the problem

like MANY people have pointed out, crystals werent meant to really have tiers.
Why do you think the boxes give out 10x of each crystal, and all their crystal giveaways (excluding ashen) have been x5?
Most of the people complaining were probably playing the market on one of the items and then the GMs gave out their said item.

Marks give out like 680 x10 of dragon crystals , so there is no way the equilibrium price is gonna be 400k ish that might take a while to reach that low.
On the other note, Gms should flood the market with jewels, atm jewels are really hard to get besides to redoing recruitment quests, except inventor and prophet, since they are a bit easier to make.

There's a difference between jewels and crystals: jewels are craftable. Giving out jewels hurt the crafting that goes on behind it; after all, if giant jewels are 100k each, who would spend 60 giant crystals + misc. items just to craft two of them?
Right now, the prices are balanced at how difficult it is to get the jewels. Given that only 20 are needed for level 80 upgrade, I don't really see why those should deflate any more than ~400-500k (current price in Thebes).
