as the topic states,below is my current line up and sad to say i hate everything about it.

BT,Sword,Exo
Monk,Princess,Oracle
Main,Inventor,Gunner

as you can see,BT and exo is not that good at tanking.while exo cant really take a huge amount of dmg.this is what my future line up will be

LK,Sword,Exo
Monk,Princess,Oracle
Main,Inventor,Jannisarry

ok so this is my dilemma,i want to get rid of the exo and get myself a nice cannoneer to replace him. so riddle me this,would cannon be able to (not to say tank) survive a few rounds in pvp if i put it up front.(gonna buff him up real good with vit rings),i cant take out my sword since he is the only merc that can tank really good for my mid line. so please help me with the pros and con of this build. Thanks

Ironically, Princesses aren't really good on any kind of team. They are too situational and should be pretty much sideboard mercenaries for when you yourself are dealing with a ranged-heavy team (for the Cannon and Gun debuffs). If you're a gun main, I'd suggest that you run your gunner in the mid row along with an Inventor and Janissary, as you originally planned. In the back, I recommend your Oracle, your Monk and your Exorcist. In the front, a Lady Knight and two Swordsmen can hold the fort until Spartan is released.

To be honest, though, you might actually want a Cannoneer just based on how ridiculously good the thing is. You might then want to run your main in the back line and replace the empty position with a Cannoneer, and send your Exorcist to the front anyways. Your Exorcist can tank just fine after you give him a bucketload of guardian stones and stick him in the best equipment he can wear.

I hope this helps!

LK,Sword,Exo
Monk,Princess,Oracle
Main,Inventor,Jannisarry

First of all, I would put Monk, Princess and Oracle in the last row. This way you are safe from Silence, plus heavy cannon builds will stun your inventor and sword too if they can manaseal/silence/freeze your monk. With this formation if they can break trough your first line you basically lost the match, since they can freeze your Monk line.

I would vote against including Jannisarry and Princess in this build. To be honest I don't have a Janissary, but everyone agrees that his skill is simply not worth it, your line up would be way better with a Cannoneer instead of Janissary. In place of the Princess I suggest a Witch. This way you can give your Exo a bit better place (behind the witch he will love), you can protect him from Freeze too, and a Meteor can turn the tide of the battle.

So my suggestion is:

LK Witch Sword
Inventor Exo Cannon
Monk Oracle Main

I am a gunner main too and beside the cookie cutter 3 gunner mid I have been ponder if there is any other good build that can come out of a gunner main. I was hoping princess would be a god sent for range merc but after trying her out, it is def not what i was hoping or thinking it would be, but i will try to lv her higher and see if my opinion will change. (praying it does)

Also would everyone agree Witch is a must have for PVP? from all the match i seen all the top teir player have 1 and being able to do 2k+ dmg to all merc just sounds rigged and stupid to not have one.

I would switch that inventor with a witch
Witch wouldnt be a bad frontliner either, it can take quite a bit of magic dmg
mix it in with rings of broken arrows and it shud be fine.

seriously why bother following other people build at all...those so called "Cookie Cutter" build are just the same old same old

after a few studies in my gunner formation i have decided to do this

LK,SWORD,EXO
ORACLE,CANNON,MONK
INVENTOR,MAIN,JANNIS

*note once inventor summons the catapult and cannon casts his smoke bomb,they will switch places and the back row will be on Seth.or i can just leave the inventor and do a gunner killing spree.

**note this is still an experimental build,if the inventor dont really prove himself useful im gonna take out my old gunner and replace him.Jannis is a must since in high lvl the damage are almost 3k per hit

***note 3k per hit is verified by Celdinumbra Jannis in FL recently (with shooting stance and then seth will it)

Im wondering about my formation also, but when i was asking ppl about jani most of them said it not worth it. So atm i have something like
:witc::swm::bst:
:vik::malehero::gun:
:sha::exo::mnk:
My main is Gunner.
I was thinking about BT, coz it teally cant tank too much-.-
Later i will exchange gunner with inventor, and viking with cannoner.
Soething like that:
:swm::witc::bst: or another sword
:inv::exo::can:
:sha::mnk::malehero:
What do u think?

Princess will be useful because..Inventor has the highest def and mdef on the latest stage among ranged unit,so possible front liner with princess,not to mention cannon and princess got combo when any of the signet casted under the smokescreen debuff.

I don't know why ppl hate on Janis, he a little weak on defense but geared out and buffed he will out damage ur main gunner. As far as that build goes i like to have prophet in these over exo, sicne im worried bout keeping front line alive as long as possible for gunners to do the dirty work. Prophet will heal the wall, and can debuff damn spears and axes builds, plus as 1 side benefit with 3 gunners seth'd odds are good you can break any scroll that ur opp tries to pop on u, but the prophet can be there to get that last hit in to break the purification scroll.

So far I've noticed some mandatory mercs for gunner:

:lak:LK cause it is the best tanker available
:mnk::ora:Monk and shaman/oracle
:malehero::inv::jan:3 ranged cutters: main+ 2 rifle mercs

that leaves 3 mercs that differ from build to build, 2 mercs to finish the wall and 1 more for support. And these are the hardest choices to make xD
Then another extremely useful merc is the exo, which apparently is just slightly weaker than sw in higher lvls, so he could be a good tank, plus the nice buff/debuff. Seems like a good choice, so two mercs left.

then we have bt... which is not a good tank but has nice AoE, that coupled with a witch meteor strike and chaos wind can be quite good imo.... but somehow i don't feel quite comfortable using this in my own build

I'm not so familiar with prophet (can some1 tell me what makes her good?) , and princess just doesn't seem to fit anywhere xD

Prophet buffs melees' attack power and accuracy, and heals them every turn. That makes her very valuable for melee builds. She also has decent attack power.

ok i had just rethinked my formation over and i would like u guys to tell me what you think about it

:swm::lak::swm:
:ora::mnk::sha:
:jan::femalehero::inv:

ok so here how it will be

by having 2 healers,i can make sure that the front dont die as easily when getting ganked

this is my strategy

inventor cast summon
and jannis in shooting stance mode
main can also cast lvl 60 chaos wind (not that important)

once the back line has done its job,

time to seth em

shaman will continue to heal the front and the occasional healing of the back by oracle

monk will cast holy guard on mid to negate any mana sealing

what do you think? (this build will be crushed easily by 3 archers team,but i havent seen any 3 archers team)

u could change one sword by an exo; his is a good tank at higher lvls and will help with his skills against any build

well i do have an exo atm and he is quite weak i reckon,plus people will always target exo 1st before anything else...so he is a no show

shooting stance lvl 60 deals like 700 bonus damage and it stacks with seth....so 4 times attacking he gets 2800 bonus damage.idk how that can be bad.

also tanks arent *tanks* in this game...meaning you could keep healing your swordies with as many healers as you want and a simple 2spear+light slash combo will take him down.i would suggest viking/exo for pressure on enemy monk.

u could change one sword by an exo; his is a good tank at higher lvls and will help with his skills against any build

that's what i'm about to do, but im afraid that exo wont be able to tank very well before guardian stones
