Wow thx , this is going to be very useful for me as i have not decided on my formation and been just thinkign it in my head. Now i dont have to go crazy thinking it all out but put it into something that i can see and it will be so much easier to envision.

I made a bunch of icons that the forum board is now using to set up formations. You could have your program output the BBcode to show the formation, and you could also just use those graphics in your program since they are transparent PNGs.

Thanks for criticism and recommendations.

Another update is coming in a couple days.
What i plan:

- Levelrestriction (Mercs u cannot use will be greyed out)
- Dropdownmenu instead of clicking 100 times (Comes in next version for sure)
- Mightcalculator (I need the formula first)
- Equipment/Statcalc (Need formula for upgrades and stats)

Impression of the next version:

I second that. I thought I saw a place holder link on another fan site for a formation builder, and was looking forward to when it got finished. It's nice that someone's made one already, but I'm a bit disappointed that it's not a web app.

I don't like the icon graphics. Can't you just take the normal, original graphics from the TGA files in the client folder?

If you're talking about magni and sword icons, these are the ones used ingame.
Located in: nDoors\Atlantica\NeoUI\Button\Button_22X23_00_000. TGA

In case you got better ones, i wouldn't mind taking these.

Try checking our Avatar gallery. We extracted the portraits of every character already and have them available for download.

New version is using 'fixed' Princess, Spartan, Lady Knight and Pirate icons.
Screenshot is kinda outdated <_<

Can you fix all of them, though? It's kind of apparent that you are using cropped images that you cropped yourself and so the outlines of the older characters look ridiculous. :(

I just realized you use JPGs for this. Why not just use PNGs? Would you need to compile with a different library?

I don't want to be the negative person of the thread, but I don't see the usefulness of this program. How is it different from just writing it on paper, doing it in your head, typing in notepad, or actually trying formations in the game?

I'd like you to continue your project in hopes it turns into something of real use. Forgive my rudeness.

@ Zaph

the program is a great idea for this reason, as you can show graphical representation of your current formation, instead of using text with acronyms.

Its small touches like these that albeit may not be needed necessarily, add value and a sense of community to the Atlantica gamer base.
