*random wave* First time I posted here...been lurking for a while and was wondering if you could give me any ideas for my formation. I've done a bit of research on this...more than I like to think about. I don't tend to min/max on things but I do want a team that will be effective. Just wondering is all :) Only thing is, I have no idea how to post up a formation so...

http://www.myatlanticaonline.com/tools/formation-creator?formation=qkvidacml

I bet I do that wrong somehow. If it shows up, YAY!

Anyway, just in case...

Front: Spearman / Lady Knight / Witch
Middle: Inventor / Artillaryman / Cannon Main
Back: Archer / Oracle / Monk

Reasonings:
Spearman: for lightning spear as well as some reaching into back rows
Lady Knight: for tanking, and also for using Divine Sword into Vortex
Witch: for tanking/ticking people off...and I like witches
Inventor: for making things :3
Artillaryman: for adding more AoE to my main with base attacks and chaos wind
Cannon Main: Um...cause I like to blow things up
Archer: for Silence and another chaos wind
Oracle: for Vortex, healing, and the buff to make my middle row shoot everything even harder :P
Monk: for...well...the normal things you use a monk for. Not even sure I want a monk honestly but you apparently need them.

Undecided On:
Keeping the archer: Most people seem to dislike them, but having this thing around to silence bosses makes a world of difference sometimes

The Monk: Everybody and their brother has one, I figure I need one. I'm just not sure I want one. How useful is the thing really? I have no huge plans on getting deep into PvP.

The Oracle and the Shaman: Was torn on which to use, or maybe even try to find room for both?

Cannoneer or Artilleryman: Does smoke do damage? If so, more than the chaos wind? Or is having 2 chaos winds bad? I dunno XD

The Inventor: Where does the pet go when you make it? I know there are some cross-shape pets you can make which are nice, but where does it go? Do I lose a merc slot for it?

Anyway, let me know what you think, whether I have it listed or not. I love advice :3

Any advice is nice XD

Not bad, the only problems I see is that you have your main vulnerable to basic attacks (normal attacks go through witch). And art main isn't that much of a tank, maybe you can change the archer to a meele class, and move your main with the meele spot in the back.

Also, change your artilleryman to cannoner once you get high enough level. Smoke bomb does nice AoT damage, and it can tank better.

Keep monk/oracle, don't get the vortex skill as it's a waste of skill space, just go with healing/seth will.

Inventor's summon goes in the back, it doesn't take a mercs spot and doesn't interfere with your 5 attacks per turn. Basicly it's a 10th merc that uses a 6th attack.

Hopefully I covered everything, if you have anymore questions just ask.

My main is vulnerable yes but I had thought the cannon main had a decent defense? I wasn't really sure what else to stick there sadly. The idea of having 2 cannons and a rifle all getting off bonus combos seemed rather tempting. If I need to maybe...switch out the witch for another standard melee, maybe a beastmaster or viking for the extra aoe potential? Or maybe just switch witch to not be in front of my main and instead put it in front of inventor, it has nice defense :P

And if smoke does damage, that pretty much gets me to switch. I only wanted artillery over cannon because it said it did damage :P

I really want to avoid losing the archer if possable, silence makes getting through some fights so much easier, and shes the only one that can hit air without having to spam skills. Is the archer that replacable?

I had sorta wanted to avoid such a ground-only heavy team but I seem to have done it completely by accident >.>

For spits and giggles, I almost envision a team like this :P

Front: Inventor, Gunner, Jannisary
Middle: Cannon Main, artillery, cannoneer
Back: Shaman, Oracle, Monk

It would just be raining death :3 I doubt it would WORK very well, but...it would be so much fun to watch lol

If you really want both an oracle and shaman, you can always stash the archer and bring out the shaman during pvp. Or you can even make your mid line a cannon line if you add a cannoneer and put inventor in the back.

Cannon line=good seth will line too.

The only gripe I have is the single spearman, sure LS does decent damage, but in my eyes the main selling point of LS is the AP loss. If you are only running one spear realistically you are only going to cause a single merc to lose their turn, where if you run two you can possible cause that merc and the one behind it to lose their turn. So if I was in your position I'd drop the spear and replace it with a BT.

i run a single spear (my main, a big mistake with my build imo... maybe i should switch). Lightning spears pretty pointless in PvE and PvP with only 1... so 99% of the time I just normal attack with my main
