I've read that thread a while back...it seems that scrolling places emphasis on having ranged in your team instead of pure brute melee. Even then, there's a chance 1 of 2 scrolls get off easy. You can always ignore them and concentrate on mowing your opponent down.

Go diaf, really. We already saw your whine in the bazillion other topics you spammed.

Also, you don't need to stop all the scrolls every time, some are more important than others (i personally don't bother with mana drain or dark forces scrolls for example unless the character that gets damaged is worth it). Moreover scrolling is the only real counter for some extremely good (but unbalanced without scrolls or specific mercs we don't have yet) like Seth's will or Mana seal.
