What kind of strategies are out there that actuall work well. I have seen seth's will with 3 gunners at back and double axe freezing front and middle row then silence the monk(or freeze).

Try checking out the PvP articles at MyAtlantica for some ideas of various PvP builds.

There are many different tatic but most of them boil down to either AOE pressure, stun or pure brute (seth/will) built.
Once you pick which one you decide on then the tactic start to show as in how to go about that type of build. So unless you want to go into specific of any of these built i will just leave it as a short answer.

Actually most current forms contain 2 out of your 3 "styles"

Actually those 3 are pretty much the only one's that exist in the game...Of course, there's the team wasn't made for pvp in the first place. But you don't want that...right?

There's also the focused damage team (different from brute strength because they focus on on merc, line, or column). Doesn't seem terribly popular, though I've done pretty well in PVP with it. And there are no doubt other tactics - they're just not popular (yet).

i've seen a team of pure tankers than win solely by taking out 1 of my merc then guarding and healing the rest of the game >.< 2 shamans, monk, 6 swordies

Focused fire is mostly made of archers, which was trumped after the patch to lower their damage in pvp. As for line, I've seen a group of 5 gunners and they used more of a stun tactic to get at least 1 free turn.

The sad thing is that the nerf to archer focus fire makes both mass archers AND single archers pretty darn USELESS (with the exception of silence, but even that isn't that helpful)
Gunners are also kinda... eh for massing up. Cannon characters tend to be better for stunning (but they have low AP regen besides "the other accepted vialble main", the cannon-main, so it's not a bad idea to mix cannoneers AND gunners together)

yah i was thinking about massing swordsmand. Fire sword is insanely strong then just switch the low hp swordsman to middle row and heal.

another person that's gonna mass swordsmen?... sigh :P.
try it out, one common tactic is just to mana seal and frozen axe, so they cant holy guard it off... (common sense right?)

That's a classic chain of skills: to seal+freeze. Also, a swordsman frontline would be able to take the heat. =P

It would be also boring to get pure swordsman.... imagine PvE with it... Dracula would be your 1st best fren ;p
one tactic i've been thinking about is ap denial + silencing build.
pack 2-3 spearmen and an exo / archer. This should be able to stop critical casters (meteor, mana seal, heals, awakes, HG) from being cast at needed times. This should be a highly tactical and advanced build.
The only problem i see is how to actually "dish out" the damage given you already have 4-5 "denial" characters and probably monk oracle for support.
