I just got my exo, and I'm pretty sure I won't need speed cast. The staff users I'll have in my final party are monk, prophet, and oracle, and oracle is the only one who will be using non passive magic most of the time, so I don't see a point in putting more than 1 point in speed cast.

Mana seal is exo's bread and butter, so I know I should max that, and if I understand correctly seal staff only lowers the attack power of a staff user's regular attack, right? So I don't see any reason to get seal staff.

Mana burn seems pretty useful, although why take away mp when I can silence? IIRC mana seal lasts only 2 turns, and there's 3 rows of enemies. And it lasts 3 turns at level 100 upgrade, right? Even then, my exo would still be busy silencing most of the time.

So it comes down to this. Should I get some levels into speed cast anyway to help oracle, or should I get mana burn for when there's only 1-2 rows left, and for PVE?

1. dun need speedcast? come to macedon, lemme AP drain the shit out of your monk (and staff mercs too), and make you regret it real bad when they have no AP to move. staff mercs aren't renowned for fantastic AP regen you know. And i think i can do it with just one spearman due to lack of speedcast. to be in top tier pvp, speedcast is pretty much mandatory dude.
2. mana seal duration NEVER changes. not even at lvl 100 upgrade.
3. I say max speedcast and mana seal, the rest dump into mana burn if you have the skill points to burn.

For PvE, that Exo is pretty useless, only thing you got for fliers is mana burn.

you'll have some maps where mana seal will be very useful.

Exo hits like a lil gurl, (compared to some other mercs that would be more useful in PvE).

as for the Exo's Bread and Butter, Speed cast is the Bread, and Mana Seal is the Butter. The Exo's Skills of choice would be those 2.

It would be slow leveling for the exo, but I would merc room the Exo for PvE, except for the areas his skills are useful.

From what I've heard and read (correct me if I'm wrong) but the optimal points for seal and speed cast are:

Mana Seal = 21 (never misses)
Speed Cast = 51 (max bonus, doesn't increase after 51)

Then the rest into burn.

:exo:
Bam.
