OK, so I know that when I started AO, one of my first thoughts was "Holy crap!, Someone just gave me something worth 300,000!!!" well, later on this doesn't seem like a whole lot, but early on, you can start a process with this gold that can make you millions faster than many other sources of gold, and heres the best part, you are GURANTEED PROFIT! No more gambling the market or wasting money on the arena, no, this is a way for extremely low level players to be making more gold than those 20 levels higher than them.
Basically it starts like this:
1. When you start a character, don't go willy-nilly spending you gift or quest money on fancy equips for your mercs. Heck, don't even spend on your main...yet. Save up from all those gifts. if they're equips, go sell them, bu tKEEP THE MONEY!!! Once you break 200K (200,000) you're ready. Now leave the little magic fairy forest that you start off in. Look under the Game Info section. From here go under NPCs and look up Colombus. Click the Auto-Move button and you will begin to move to him. When you see Madrid, go on in. from here you want to go to the market and spend ALL of your money on Babyoln equipment boxes. they go for around 13K, but don't shy away from spending ALL YOU HAVE GOT on them. Trust me, it'll be worth it. now continue to Colombus, who is located in the Sabbatini Gardens, southwest of Madrid. Now it's time to introduce you to Atlantica Time. Look to the bottom left of your screen and you should see a date, and next to it, an hour value.
EXLAMPLE: "9 hrs"
Colombus is open from 9-18, so wait until it says 9 hrs. While waiting, open all of those boxes you bought. Now you need to learn about Colombus.
1. It costs 10% Will to sell an item to Colombus, so in one "spree" you can sell up to 10 items.
2. Colombus buys equipment for half of the market fixed price. (This may sound like he's ripping you off, but it's not so.)
3. Colombus is a STATIONARY NPC. He doesn't move like a lot of other Npcs in the game.
Now, since Colombus is open from 9-18 and it takes you 100% Will to sell him one characters inventory of items, there is some waiting involved, but don't let that scare you, it's worth it. You might have bought those boxes for 13K, but Colombus buys the items in them for 29K-59K. This means that your profit is always going to be 2-4 times what you spent on boxes! However, you can only sell about 25 boxes worth of items per cycle that Colombus is open. Still, if you sell all 25 boxes, you'll normally walk away with anywhere from 450-650K! and since the cycle repeats every 20 minutes or so, all you have to do is sell, go watch TV or do something else, come back and sell some more and so on until you run out of boxes. Then you can put all your earnings into more boxes and do it again!
NOTES:
Ok, so after you hit level 50 600K doesn't seem like that much, but remember, this method of gold-making works MUCH better when you're really low level.
Also, this method works best with Bran Castle or Babylon boxes. BVran castle actually has a better profit % gain, but the actual amount is lower and you have to sell more boxes, so if you're impatient it isn't the right choice for you.
Basically the only downside to this method is that it is EXTREMELY boring if you're just going to sit there and wait for your will to recharge. That's why i reccomend going and doing something else while waiting. I sat watching TV for one day while checking on Atlantica and ended up with 16 mil by the end of the day. That's a mount, and all I did was watch the Bernie Mac show.
