Worth adding Cannoneer to formation?

As it stands I'm a gunner main and have another gunner merc. I'm in the middle of the cannoneer quest (need to get those stupid ghost heavies). Do you think its worth switching out the gunner for the cannoneer? having two gunners is nice but the cannoneer seems to be a lot more durable.

smoke helps, i think yes =] unless maybe ur gunner is for dmg, but usually gunners r stun build, which i assume u r?

Cannoneers are good, more hp than a gunner and smoke does reduce enemy's accuracy with a small DoT. You still get the column attack with the added sides to normal attacks. So everything is so far a pro. The only con would be upgrading them. 200k per crystal? GL =]

Enchanting ghost heavy to +2 isn't cannoneer quest. It's Momotaro's side quest.

thanks for the replies. the upgrading is kinda what i'm worried about - i've got 30 dragon crystals, but i really don't wanna do inventor quest 4 more times. i'll stick with gunner i think til i have a sure fire way to get em...

The cannoneer is actually really worth it. With a high level'd smoke bomb, the accuracy debuff is very noticeable.

At higher levels, you'll be able to accumulate the gold for it surely. But to stick with a gunner, at least you'll have something to fall upon if a cannoneer was not to your liking. You can always get it, not upgrade it, but still level it. Just use the merc room.

Well smokebomb pratically is the very reason why you wan to get cannononer . Correct me if i am wrong but the only way to make smokebomb full formation attack is by upgrading at lvl 50. So if you cant spare the 50dragon crystal at 20 then you can forget about the 100 at lvl 50.

I seen the cannoneer in action and damn i would get one for myself. It might be painfully expensive but it is definate worth it. The debuff and the dmg he can dish out is really good to forgo this great merc. Beside once you reach end lv you should have no problem getting money by then.

i've got the cannoneer and am leveling him through quests, but can't actually use him yet due to his level.

every spare bit of cash i get is bein used to get giant/redemption jewels for my exo and princess/oracle...

I got both cannoneer and inventor, and today... some smart ass decided to play the market. Dragon Crystals just went from 200k to 500k overnight.

For me the decision is already made. the cannoneer can work just as well when brutal willed, and stun more then a gunner can. plus the advantage of the debuff and -accuracy which helps tremendously, i know that i will definitely get a cannoneer once i hit the level requirement

Getting 300 dragon crystals wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be.
