Looking for some Sword PvE advice

Hey, everyone. I've got my sword up to lv62 now so I figured it'd be a good time to look into some long-term formation business...

Right now I'm using:

:swm::malehero::swm:
:arc::vik::arc:
:mnk::sha::mnk:

which is working pretty well- with Protect and SoP the main is pretty much invulnerable right now :rolleyes:, though it can be a huge hassle trying to keep the other swords alive.
Obviously I want to trade the shaman for an Oracle and I'm thinking one archer for a Prophet. Is there really anything I can do to replace the swords other than wait until the 90s for an LK and then move the Viking to the front? Something like...

(that's not how I'd arrange the center, it just looks nicer on the forum that way :p )

Also, as fun as double monk is, is it being too defensive?


As far as skills on my main go, I've been focusing on Break Down since I mostly play with a friend who is a Bow main. Destructive Wind ftw. :D

well it all depends on how YOU like playing

Judging by how you want a nice frontline - lk/swordmain
and have archer/prophet for sniping

This looks forward to a spike build

You could try this

:pro::mnk::ora:


It has a strong frontline = 3 shields

You can keep your frontline then just change the 2nd swordie for a lk
You have 5 meele + 2 ranged + 2 staff
You have 2 interchangable tanks
Works in PvP
Prophet heals 5 melee mercs
Archer silences + snipes with prophet
Lk + main + sword merc can spike on northern vikings ice ridge (level 100 viking upgrade)


You pick whether SoP or Protect helps most for you

Imo i like protect over SoP cause prophet heals enough in my formation



Also ditch breakdown....... but if you like it... whatever floats your boat.

Imo a sword main should have 60 flame sword/60 chaos edge and 11 gaurd dispel

Alright, I'll start building up Flame Sword, though decreasing Break Down will be going slowly since Chaos Edge is a long way away...
