Currently at 41, right now I have this
:spm::swm::spm:
:malehero:
:sha::mnk::arc:

I was wondering what kind of merc do you recommend I should get? I have some ideas in mind and I'd like your input on what I should get.

:swm:
High defense, and I hear its good for PvP at an early stage. But I don't know if I'll have any swordsmen left if I eve reach lvl 60+

:spm:
I heard a line of 3 spearmen is a good front row. Not sure where or who I heard it from. But I heard it'll last a while

:bst:
Because of the area. But like the swordsman, I don't know if I'll keep her when I reach the higher levels.

Additional information:
I don't PvP that much, mostly doing quests. But I do free league once in a while.

okay theres a few things you could do

if your looking for a pvp based build then

:swm::spm::swm:
:malehero::vik:
:sha::mnk::arc:

is a good choice added freezing pressure

or you could swap the viking for an archer as you lack some range

if your looking for a good pve build then

:spm::spm::spm:
:malehero::swm:
:sha::mnk::arc:

is a good choice as spears are amazing in pve

BT is not a good idea as they are the same as vikings but worse

stat change Bt has lower magic defence

and id rather have freezing axe than summon as summon is weak

also likely to get swapped out at higher lvls

hope this helps

BT's skills become highly... beige at the end levels. They do great AoE but their damage pales in comparison to a lot of other skills, plus the fact that they only have that skill. The only real benefit is striking three enemies in a row at once with a BT.

Also, BTs are better than Vikings if only for their stats. BTs have higher defenses and offenses, but they are still susceptible to everything magical just like all axe-types.

The advice given above seemed good if you want added freeze pressure, but in higher levels of PvE, freezing becomes obsolete especially in boss battles like with the Minotaur King and the Admirers of Shiva, who, given they aren't really bosses, still suck like hell when you fight them.

If you're really aiming to get five melee in your build, I'd suggest you get a prophet if only to help keep your build fresh.

As you said you don't really PvP, but it's really a somewhat inevitable thing you try out. Your build seems good, because all Spearmen work great in pairs. Not sure with trios, but if pairs are good, trios must be as well.

You may want to take your Swordsman out in the future and get some AoE if you just plan to stay in PvE.
