Hi i need some help about getting a monk or dont get it..

My form now is:

:bst::spm::spm:
:exo::witc::vik:
:art::sha::malehero:(Staff)

future is:

:bst::lak::spt:
:exo::witc::can:
:pro::ora::malehero:(staff)

so should i get a monk??

From your formation, I guess you're lvl 60+ ?

Well, EVERY team needs a monk, some even have two :)

Not saying you can't do without, mind you, but it will definitely be much harder.

In shadow dungeons, you'll get most probably stunned when fighting against three mobs --> awakening.

Your main needs to be safe --> protect.

Your frontline is pretty susceptible to magic attacks --> holy guard.

And don't even get me started start me about FL :D
It's as compulsory as an exorcist.

This is one of the only D-class merc - maybe the only one - that you'll keep in your higher lvls, even 100+.

In the simplest of terms....

yes. Yes you do. If you ever plan on doing competetive PvP, get a monk. If you are not a pvp person, you should still prolly get a monk, as it will only benefit you (HG protection, Awakening, etc)

I believe you are going for some AOE build. So just remove prophet for monk. Oh and, LK is not that good. You might change her eventually.

Hmm, isn't she supposed to be the best tank around (before the spartan came out anyway) ?

She has a shield, has the same resistance to fire as swordsmen, has more HP and str than them, she has light slash also, which should be better than flame sword, so, what's there not to like ?

I'm really interested to know cos I'm about to start the LK recruiting quest. :confused:

She should normally be a way better frontliner than spearmen or BT in this case (even at lvl 100). Or am I wrong ?

She's the best tank, but thats all. She doesn't have any other redeeming qualities. Other "semi-tanks" can tank almost as well, while having other uses. BT has AOE, spearman had AP drain, viking has freeze, spartan has warcry, etc.

a Exocist is rarely used in PvE, but needed in PvP,
Witch well . . Unless you want to wait 4 turns to just use her best damaging skill, is prolly the least needed. Her other skills does have some useful play tho.
Prophet, is great to have for PvE, may not need so much in PvP, depending if you want to keep a witch for PvP or not. Not to mention till you get the LK and/or Spartan to replace spearmen, the Prophet will be needed.

personallly I find the BT's AoE's weak after level 80, I rarely use it any more , But I still keep her for her row attack. I do use her AoE against a back row/target that is close to getting finished off, and I know her AoE can do it. Other then that, hardely used any more.

hmmm, not sure why you would want a Smoke Bomb over Deep Insight, but for more attack and better def I can see why Cannoneer over Artileryman


I would merc room the Exo to make room for the monk

swaps would be between Exo and Witch or Prophet for PvP
