A long time back during CB1 there was a very active IRC channel, but no idea if that is still in existence anymore, have not seen much notice of one since back in those days TBH.

Alright, I started one. Up to you if you want it to take off or not. Once we get at least 4 regular idlers, the channel can be established permanently.

Well, Ventrilo would have a much lower capacity than IRC... text would definitely be more versatile than voice chat for a server wide chat program. :)

How about we set up a dedicated IRC channel for this site? I wonder how many people know how to use it though.

If you can figure out AO, you should be able to figure out how to download and run an IRC client. Or could just put some java one on site.
