Hi, I have been searching for a while now here and on other sites but I cannot find a clear description of which skill should be which lvl to be max effective, talking E.G. about Guard dispell ? how high should I raise tyhis skill to be max efective without spending to much points on it ?

I will not list all the skills I'm interested in hoping that you will give a link or something and then I will not waste you're time with all the skills :)

Good question.

Been looking for that myself too actually.

About guard dispel, I've never heard of people maxing it (too many interesting other main-only skills for that). From what I've heard, the ones who learned it mostly raise it to 11, to insure it doesn't miss.

For awakening for example, with 21, you remove the whole three stun counters, so raising it further will only improve the small healing part (not worth it imo).

If you plan on using skill combos, like vortex + light slash, both skills should be raised as high as possible because the effectiveness will be calculated based on the lowest skill.

If you don't know it already, check http://aop.muwing.com/, not all skills are explained in detail, but for some, you get a break down level per level, and the site is regularly updated.

Err...no. Awakening doesn't remove all combo counters until lvl 21. Also, you NEED Hg to at least 11 or 20 as well, so I'd go max protect, max awake, and 30 HG (mind you, this is with vials of potential)

Shaman - your right, although I believe that NS maxes at 40. If that is the case, get hex to 50

Viking - don't forget your deadly strike ^^

sword - if you have shaman, get dark seed + flame sword (and deadly strike ^^)

Spear - deadly strike ^^

Archer - assuming you will get dark archer, max silence, max multi-arrow, 30 deadly shot^^

gunner - WILDSHOT!!!!!! and deadly shot^^

Exo - Your right

prophet - max concentrate, and allocate the rest of the points between the debuffs. You can choose which ones, as it is a preferance (i'd go with either sword or axe, as there are very few spears....unless you don't like spears)

Main - get guard dispel to 11, just to be safe.

thks guys for all the input ...
as far as the fighter type mercs go it is obvious what to max since they don't realy have more then 1-2 skills
my problems would be with :
1. main - staff
BoL -> (amx out I guess)
scud -> I think going until 40 and then maybe delete and go for flame blow
guard dispell -> I have 3 now but it fails sometimes so I will try to bring it to 11 as you sayed above

2. exo -
speed cast - I read somewhere that there is no point maxing it out since it is the same on 60 as on 21 -> this I really dont know
mana seal - I have it on 7 and it fails big time vs mobs and other mercs I need this also to work so I will give it a 21 asap
mana burn -> this gives dmg and steals mana as it grows ? then I guess max it out since I dont think I will get seal staff at all

3. monk -
protect -> main is staff in the back so I will raise this to max but not as prio
holy guard -> why is this worthed to go beyond lvl 1 ? :D I have it on 1 and it works great until now, will this change in the future ?
awakening -> all ppl say this is not worthed beyond 21 -> why not ? ok, for stun it is maxed out at 21 but what about the low heal ? since with the 60 skill in protect and 1 in HG I have plenty of skill points to raise this to lets say 60 and max out the low heal of it ... am I missing here something ? Flabble you sayed I need HG at 30, with vial of potential I have the chance to do that but is it needed ?

P.S.
@wraith75 -> thanks for the website, I know about it and use it
@Lumbrjak -> you play on thebes right ? in EliteSyndicate guild ? Enkyl here :)

lol hi enkyl^^ why diddnt u just ask me when i was online?

@Flabble noble maxes out at 60 and why in the hell would u even think about putting points into hex?and awakening @ lvl11 removes 2 counters and thats all u can remove....also this list was "BASIC" so of course dstrike wasnt going to be on it

Um, about awakening, don't you need it at 21 ? I mean, ok if you wanna remove 2 stun counters before the stun, you only need 11, but once the mercs are stunned, I suppose 3 are required to become completely "unstunned" again, right ?

Macsu, about mana seal, don't hope using it in PvE too much, cos only very few mobs are sealable, like the priestesses in the Hanging gardens, the wizards in Marksburg, ... Otherwise, this is primarily a PvP skill.

About holy guard, I'm not sure, but I suppose a higher lvl will allow you to better resist a guard dispel ? And the heal you get per turn is improved too.
I've got mine at 40, but I think I've overdone it a bit ;)

Um, old thread which I missed on my lunch break forages.

But I have the following point.
Awakening at lvl 11 removes 2 stun counters. lvl 21 removes 3
However removing 3 is never needed as at stun counter 3 your merc is stunned. Awakening even at lvl 1 would awaken a stunned merc fully (i.e. reset their stun counter to 0)

Is this not correct, because it is what i remember from experience, unless they have changed things in patches that I've not experienced yet.
