Spells have cooldown time but i noticed that when i used my witch and cast mana drain, it would add 2 more turns too cool down meteor. Is that supposed to happen?

Yes, think of cooldown as "magic coins": you get 1 per turn for a maximum of 4 (you can't have more than 4 at any one time); when you use an ability you use up "magic coints" equal to the number stated in the cooldown section.

Magic points need to be more clearly represented in the UI. If you mouse over a spell, even of an inactive mercenary, it will tell you how many turns you have to wait to use it, or if it is available now. But the time lost to discover if you have freezing axe, for example, and then guard off through enough characters to get to it is terrible. Magic points, like AP, should be shown clearly on the battle field.

True, some type of wait indicator, even as simple and similar as the dots used on scroll casting would be very useful.

Yes, as a new player I couldnt figure out WHY i couldnt cast things. And why only one merc gets to go on the first turn.

To be exact if you are the first one to start the fight you will be able to fight with one merc that has the highest Ap at that time. Guarding will just make you lose your turn since most likely on the first turn no one Ap will be above 100. So if you attack with that merc on the first turn he probably will get a negative Ap. Then 2nd turn which normally will be going to the enemy will receive 3turns. Then following which will becomes the 3rd turn will be yours and you will be able to use 5times. Therefore starting from the 3rd turn everyone can use a maximum of 5units at most at any one time.
