Yes, I know I have a thread below, but I now face a new and terrifying problem with my monk, that why I am posting here.
Current build:
:spm::spm::spm:
:witc::exo::arc:
:mnk::malehero::mnk:
Witch switches with exo if pvping or fighting cannon mobs(camel, etc).
Aiming for:
:exo::lak::malehero:
:pro::spm::spm:
:mnk::ora::mnk:
Will prolly have a spear in place of LK if I cant get her.
Well the main problem I post here is my build, and more importantly, my monks. Currently my monks are at level 63 alreadly, but I am having trouble considering whether I should hire new monks or use skill decrease books the decrease their stats, since I got the skill wrong.
Stats of monk 1:
protect:12
HG: 21
Awakening:23
Stats of monk 2:
protect:7
HG:22
Awakening: 22
Well, I think the monks are suppose to "master" diffrent skills, with one monk maxing protect &HG(any more points into awakening) while the other maxes SoP & Awakening (other points into HG). Oh btw, any comment on formation is still welcome.

well first thing, that spears in first line are dead, put in second line, you have better tanks to place off spears
then 2 monks omg for me 1 is good the second is just a place take off for betters char
i think something like this
:exo::bst::lak:
:spm::malehero::pro:
:sha:::spm::mnk:

isnt that exactly like the pre nurf melee spam that will fail now? mine is actually more of an ap drain build. Anyway, one question here is should I retrain 2new monks or skill decrease my current 2?

skillswise; awakening and hg around lvl 20 should do the trick, u should focus on either high lvl protect or high lvl sop... and since u have two monks, u should have one monk with protect and one with sop lol (thats the whole point on having 2 monks)...
as for using books or re-train.. your monks are (apparently) around lvl 50 so its not much work to retrain them... and its not so expensive to use skill decrease... so do what's easier for u
btw... i dont think u 'need' 2 monks... u r better off using scrolls and sticking with 1 monk; as it uses a valuable space that cold be better used by an arty or canonneer

Im facing a sorta same problem like you, trying to get 2 monks in as your opponent can only win trough being very lucky.
As for skills, you should go for 60 protect on both (this allows you to heal up very fast when not under HG) as SoP is a huge mana sink for monks. I've heard rumors of 60 SoP monks going out of mana in pvp after 5-6 turns focus fire on the main, making it effectively 8v9 fight. If you consider bringing a witch and can keep her alive to mana recharge you can opt for SoP, but its tricky.
Awakening/HG have 2 options IMO, just make both monks identical (you dont want to end up relying on 1 of them due to higher hg/awakening or your opponent will find out). My variants are either even split 30/30 or 45/45 (potential pots or not) on awakening and holy guard, as both benefit from having a charm for skill increase.
The other is 45/15 (60/30 with pots) so your both awakenings joined together on the same targets will act as a nice heal to help your shaman or oracle.
Youll have to decide yourself how important HG is to you to determine how you want to put the points. Just dont go 15/45 awakening/HG.
Wether or not to retrain depends on which setup you pick to make them (remember, you dont have to get 30 vials, you can also use just 5 or 10 or whatever you feel like and keep them both identical) and the availability of vials/skill decrease books on your server.
As for Taikan; try thinking up a build that can counter something like this;
N.vik - LK - axeM
Cannon - Arty - Exo
Monk - Shaman - Monk
Cant use AoE reliable due to shaman, cant stun/DoT due to monks, cant spike flame sword/lightning spear/ice ridge/freeze/... due to (almost) perma HG on front. Also keep in mind the cannon/arty combo can put 6-7 mercs under combo1 (of which you can awaken only 3-4 respectivelywith just 1 monk) followed by mana seal-stun, after which your monk cant awaken them due to being combo2 himself.
As well, due to constant awakenings you cant HG the front keeping them frozen most of the fight.
So that leaves you on 6 available mercs; 1 activation for constant awakening and 1 for constant combo1 on your opponent. That leaves 4 available mercs of which 3 cant act, want to gues how long it takes before you get only 4-3-2 activations due to AP starvation without him relying on spears?
Edit: thats not even taking into account him using scrolls/getting bonus scrolls. Sure you can do the same, but on awakening you get Smoke Bomb/Deep Insight/Freeze and on Purification you get stuns (remember the axes can rotate on your front for combo1 as well). Whatever you do however; he wont even need scrolls as the monks can do it just fine already.

from what it sounds like, I am being suggested to drop my spears for AOE mercs. I suppose at a high level, perharps after I got all the other mercs I need, I might drop the spears(they are good in PVE, so I am not dropping them just yet)
