Dragons Nest is an upcoming fantasy/action game developed by Eyedentity. It incorporates a fantasy storyline and role-playing elements of MMORPGs. The player follows the character through an over-the-shoulder perspective in a 3D environment. The story takes place in the land of Lemuria, which is a blend of 3D graphics and anime-style characters.
Combat System
The highlight of Dragons Nest is its real-time combat system. Players are in complete control during the entire battle. They can choose the targets in this game. In a lot of MMOs, the nearest enemy is usually targeted automatically, which can be a nuisance for players who prefer choosing the targets themselves.
Socializing Aspects
The socializing aspect of this fantasy MMORPG is also impressive. Players can get together in parties and do battle against others. Up to sixteen people can participate at the same time in the battlegrounds. Running through instances is a smooth process. In some online games, there is a lot of lagging during instances. This isn’t the case with Dragons Nest. The dynamics of group combat allows for smooth teamwork. There are also solo instance options for those who prefer playing by themselves.
Classes
There are four classes. The Warrior is the melee class; the Sorceress is the magic class; the Cleric is the healing class; and the Archer is the range class.
The great thing about these classes is that they are not confined solely within their traditional roles. For instance, the Archer actually has some powerful kick attacks for close range combat. The Cleric can smite enemies with powerful lightning magic. The Warrior can launch combos by using a variety of moves. In addition to doing elemental spells, the Sorceress can do specialized attacks with the use of an off-hand object such as a doll or grimoire.
Verdict
Although the cartoonish characters might not be appealing to everyone, the game shouldn’t be underestimated. It’s looking to be very promising – especially when it comes to the combat system. The over-the-shoulder perspective gives the player an advantage. Unlike other MMORPGs, which place the character right in the middle of the screen, Dragons Nest places the player to the left. This allows for easier observation of enemy movements.
All in all, Dragon Nest is definitely a game you will want to check out! |
